Annie leibovitz was born on October 2, 1949, in Waterbury, Connecticut.

• She primarily does commercial, freelance work.
• Her whole life is her subject, she never stops taking photos. 
• She is well known for taking photos of celebrities, portraits and fashion images.
• She will run herself to the ground as she wont say no to any job offers. 
• She goes massive shoots all over the world whilst juggling three kids.
• She is always in high demand doing both personal pictures and magazine images.

In 1970 she started working for the rolling stones magazine as a staff photographer, she worked at the magazine for 13 years. During her time working at rolling stones she had to go to rehab due to taking drugs that she was always around (the celebs she was photoing took them). During this time she realised she could work at a magazine and still do personal work aswell which was more important to her. Photographers such as Robert Frank and Henri Cartier-Bresson influenced her during her time at the San Francisco Art Institute which she attended in 1969 for several months.
She always communicated well with her subjects which helped in the taking of her photos as the subjects were relaxed around her, she would even hang out with the celebrities to get use to they way they acted. By the time she left rolling stones she had shot 142 covers.
