Brian Griffen

Brian has been taking photos for 40 years, started 1970.
He started off taking photos on a film camera, he doesn't have a degree only a diploma, he is influenced by tony ray jones,
When he was younger his family didn't encouraged him to have a career in photography as it was looked down on, as people didn't think you could make money from it.
When he finished his diploma he did a little travelling, which inspired him to take lots of photos (documentary style) of anything he came across.
Barney bubbles inspired him, he took a lot of pictures which bubbles illustrated with lines, which created a self published book. He made his own light equipment as he didn't have much money. Most of his first images were taken in his apartment, he used what he owned as a backdrop. He new from the beginning photography was going to be his life.
